Colostrum: Does it actually work? or is it just a very well-funded marketing campaign?

That’s what I found myself asking after being bombarded by Armra ads on instagram and tiktok.

At The Aphrodite Insider, I’m not here to fall for the hype (unless it’s justified). I’m here to dig in, try it myself, compare labels, stalk the sourcing, and give you the unfiltered, wellness-girlie-meets-ingredient-nerd breakdown.

So this month, I’ll admit, I rolled my eyes a bit when purchasing  Armra Colostrum and it’s lesser known competitor Cowboy Colostrum.  

But I said I’d give it a shot and compare the two. One’s got the sleek branding and influencer glow-ups. The other I was hopeful for, since it was giving more integrity vibes than sales campaign.

And guess what? Spoiler alert: I am definitely down to ride with Cowoboy Colostrum. (see what I did there…? )

But let’s break down why.

First, Wait—What Even Is Colostrum?

Colostrum is the very first milk produced by mammals after giving birth—packed with immunoglobulins, growth factors, nutrients, and enzymes that help baby mammals survive and thrive.

So why are grown women swirling it into their matcha?

Cowboy: Tastes like… colostrum. Creamy, mild, slightly earthy. I mix it into my morning smoothies, or even my coffee. It’s not “yum,” but it’s pure.

Armra: Flavored options like Blood Orange and Pineapple—fine if you want colostrum that tastes like a Celsius... but we prefer our bioactives without a tropical twist.

Another reason to love Cowboy? 

It’s a female-founder brand (!!)

Armra may have made colostrum cool on Instagram, but Cowboy Colostrum is the one I’m keeping in my cabinet.
