Here are just a few terms you may hear of in the IVF world to become familiar with:
ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) – a technique for invitro fertilization where a single sperm is introduced into an egg with a needle, as opposed to placing a bath of sperm around an egg in a petri dish. ($1,000-$2,000)
PGT-A (preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy) $4000: Aneuploidy screening- determines if the cells of selected embryo has the correct number of chromosomes (23 pairs).
PGT-M (preimplantation genetic testing for monogentic/single-gene diseases) $5,000-$7,000: more complex procedure with greater risk that screens for specific genetic disease. If there is a family history of genetic disease this may be done. Usually if Translocation is suspected.
