What We Talked About on the Podcast: Why Preconception Care Starts Months Before You Try

Gimme that

A lot of people think fertility starts the moment they decide to try, but your body needs time to prepare. On a recent podcast, we talked about the 90-day preconception window and why that timeline matters so much when you want to support egg quality, hormone balance, and a healthy cycle.

Here’s the big idea: your follicle develops for about three months before ovulation, so what you do now can support what your body is building later. That’s why we talk about fertility prep as a process, not a quick fix.

Why The 90-Day Window Matters

This window matters because it gives your body time to do work that you cannot rush. Egg development, mitochondrial support, circulation, and hormone signaling all benefit from steady care over time.

That care can look like:

  • Weekly acupuncture.
  • Nourishing meals.
  • Better sleep.
  • Antioxidant support.
  • Lower toxic exposure.
  • Supporting sperm health too.

Instead of trying to do everything perfectly, focus on giving your body the support it needs to do what it already knows how to do.

How Acupuncture Supports Fertility

In the podcast, we talked about acupuncture in a simple way. It helps create a response in the body that increases blood flow and supports communication between the brain, ovaries, and uterus. Because hormones travel through the blood, that circulation matters a lot during preconception care.

Chinese medicine also looks at patterns like deficiency, excess, inflammation, and stagnation. That gives us a practical way to understand what is happening beneath the surface, instead of focusing only on one symptom or one lab value.

What Else Supports This Process

Preconception care works best when we support the whole body. That can include:

  • Nutrient-dense, protein-forward meals.
  • Antioxidants and mitochondrial support.
  • Reducing toxic load where possible.
  • Supporting the nervous system.
  • Working with your doctor when thyroid, IVF, or endometriosis needs extra support.

We do not blame stress for fertility challenges. Stress is part of life, and your body deserves support, not shame. What we can do is help regulate the system, improve circulation, and create a steadier foundation for conception.

We’re Here All Week

One of the biggest things we want you to know is that we’re here for you all week, including Sunday. Jordyn is also joining our team, which gives us even more support so we can stay available and responsive as you move through your fertility journey.

That kind of access matters, especially when you’re trying to make sense of your cycle, your labs, or your next step. We want this to feel supportive, not overwhelming.

A Gentler Way To Think About Fertility

One of the best parts of the conversation was the reminder that you do not plant a seed and expect a flower overnight. Fertility works in seasons, and your body needs time, support, and consistency to grow something healthy.

If you’re thinking about trying soon, or you’ve been trying for a while and want a more strategic plan, this is where we come in. We’re here all week, including Sunday, and Jordyn is joining our team so we can support you even better. Book your consultation or text us to talk through where you are in your cycle and what support makes sense next.
